Working outdoors is a long tradition for art in Australia. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month. Members, friends and other interested people are welcome. Workshops start around 10.30am. A variety of media is used and photographers are welcome. Stay all day or for as long as you wish, bring food and drink if needed and, of course, your equipment. All workshops are at the mercy of the weather.

The group is self-managed. Members are encouraged to wear their membership badges.

The following is the timetable for 2009

Wed 5th Mar

- Heide Park, Bulleen.
One of the most significant sites for art in this country, the park extends to the river. Fees to the Museum of Modern Art go to other galleries and to the restored Reed House. Use the Gallery car park off Templestowe Road. Melway Map 32 Ref. E5.

Wed 2nd Apr

- Scotchman's Run, Oakleigh
Space, skies, city views. Park at end of Winifred Street or at the top of Devon Grove, both off Ferntree Gully Road. Melway Map 69 Ref. J6.

Wed 7th May

- Federation Square, Melbourne
Space, skies, light and shade, river, buildings, colours, figures. NGV Ian Potter and Moving Image Centre. Entry to Square car park is off Russell Street Extension. Arts Centre car park is across river but close. Fees payable. Train to Flinders Street might be best. Melway Map 2F Ref G8.

Wed 4th Jun

- Westgate Park, Port Melbourne
Space, skies, parkland, bridge, water, reflections, birds, sculptures. Pathways to the river are available for walking. Park in the car park off Todd Road. Melway Map 56 Ref. F1.

Wed 2nd Jul

- Surrey Park, Box Hill
Space, skies, reflections, buildings. Park along Standard Avenue off Elgar Road. Melway Map 47 Ref. B11.

Wed 6th Aug

- Williamstown
Space, skies, boats, reflections, city views, historic buildings, streetscapes, light and shade, colours, figures. Park along the Strand or Nelson Place. Fees payable. Free parking in side streets. Melway Map 56 Ref. D8, D9, E9.

Wed 3rd Sep

- Oakleigh Shopping Centre
Streetscapes, light and shade, colours, figures. Car park off Hanover Street. Best place to start is Shopping Mall between Portman Street and Atherton Road. Melway Map 69 Ref. F8.

Wed 1st Oct

- Mordialloc Creek, Mordialloc
Water, skies, reflections, colours, beachscapes. Park in car parks off Beach Road of off Governor Road. Fees payable. Melway Map 92 Ref. E1, F1, G1.

Wed 5th Nov

- Monash Gallery of Art, Wheelers Hill
Gardens, views, vistas, light and shade. Free entry to Gallery. Park in Gallery car park off Jells Road. Melway Map 71 Ref. J10.
